Week 23 Roundup: 10,000 Points Edition

After texting with some foul club GMs last week after the Week 22 Roundup post, they were inquiring what a good score for an NFA season is. I said 10,000 points is a bench mark that I usually use. So with that in mind, let's look through the season to see how many foul clubs broke the 10k mark in each of the previous seasons of league play. I was pretty sure I had posted this earlier in teh blog somewhere but couldn't find it, and I'd have to add a season or 2 anyway, so I'll just do it here.

Season (Number of Teams): Number of Foul Clubs over 10k (1st Place Score, lowest 10k score [place], highest non-10k score [place])

2009-2010 (6): 4 (12990, 10035 [4th], 7800 [5th])
2010-2011 (8): 3 (13470, 10385 [3rd], 8855 [4th])
2011-2012 (7): 0 (Lockout shortened season)
2012-2013 (7): 5 (12435, 10880 [5th], 7165 [6th])
2013-2014 (8): 3 (11605, 10985 [3rd], 9650 [4th])
2014-2015 (8): 4 (11130, 10225 [4th], 9685 [5th])
2015-2016 (8): 2 (10740, 10525 [2nd], 9990 [3rd])
2016-2017 (9): 4 (12120, 11020 [4th], 9280 [5th])
2017-2018 (8): 4 (11900, 10000 [4th], 9255 [5th])
2018-2019 (9): 5 (12455, 10060 [5th], 9635 [6th])
2019-2020 (9): 2 (10555, 10550 [2nd], 9000 [3rd]) *Season cut short due to COVID-19
2020-2021 (9): 0 (Shortened season due to COVID-19)

I really didn't see any patterns while looking through the standings when making the table above but it is interesting to note who won the "down years" or shortened seasons. Rodman'sWeddingDress won the first shortened season in 2011-12 with a score of 8350 while Pgastan FC got 2nd at 7770. The next down year, I would say was 2015-16 where only 2 foul clubs broke 10k. Arlington Assaulters won that year, with Oww Ming finishing runner up. The next 2 shortened seasons were due to COVID and it really is a shame with regards to the 2019-20 season as we were in line for an epic duel to end the season between Pgastan FC and GG Foulin'. You can review blog posts from June 2020 about that season. Finally, 2020-21 (last season) was only 72 games as it started late due to COVID. GG Foulin' won with 9980, so just missed the 10k mark. Oww Ming was in 2nd with 9660 and PFC 3rd with 9325.

So there you have it, hope that bring some clarity to previous NFA standings and what a "good" score is. Now let's get to this week's post.

Points Graph:

Tier 5: F'N FLOPPERS
Tier 4: Ohsnappers!!!
Tier 3: Baltimore Hitsquad, Gamblor
Tier 2: Oww Ming's Flagrants, Rodman'sWeddingDress, Arlington Assaulters
Tier 1: GG Foulin', Pgastan FC

Well with 2 weeks to go the big news from last week is Arlington Assaulters now in contention for 3rd place after a massive week. That's really the only big movement from this past week other than Oww Ming and Rodman swapping positions within Tier 2. Oh, I guess, with AA vaulting into the 3rd place race, we've gone back to 5 Tiers.

Well that's it for now.

Keep Foulin' Y"all!
