2014-2015 NFA League/Draft Preview

It's Back! We are just a few weeks away from some intense fouling action, so what better way to get back into the swing of things than with a League/Draft Preview!

League Preview: We are at 8 teams for the 2014-2015 season The top 3 tams are all returning; Arlington Assaulters, They Call Me Gamblor, and Pgastan FC respectively. 4th place (Baltimore Hitsquad) and 5th place (Rodman'sWeddingDress) are also returning. Last place tam, F'N FLOPPERS also returns, but hopes to have a better season than last year. That would be 6 teams, I mentioned we have 8, so as the commissioner of the NFA I'd like to welcome Dis is dat Donk Ball and Oww Ming's Flagrants to the league.

Kind of tempted to run a head to head contest on the blog just to see who would win, but don't really feel like generating the schedule, though it wouldn't be too difficult I guess....Maybe one of the other members could help us out?

Draft Preview: In the past most teams just rank their foulers based on last years perfromance and it looks like that's still the best way to do so. 108 foulers scored over 1000 points last year with DeMarcus Cousins (2330 pts) and Blake Griffin (2305) leading the way yet again. The first surprise comes in at 3 where Kyle Lowry scored a whopping 2255 points. Now that point total is not what's alarming, it's the fact that he is a point guard that is crazy. He easily shattered the record for most points by a guard let alone a point guard. So the question is was it a fluke or can he repeat his performance, let's take a closer look:

Lowry had good consistent production with 267 PFs, so you were going to get at least something every night. He also clocked in at 11 techies and 5 foul outs. The foul outs may drop this year but it is conceivable he can keep up the techy pace. Throw in 1 ejection and 1 flaggy for padding and it is definitely possible he does it again.

Spencer Hawes and Andre Drummond round out the remaining foulers who scored over 2000 points. A total of 16 foulers had double digit techies, though one of those was Durant and given his injury that is unlikely to happen again unless he goes bonkers.

That's it for now. The NFA draft is this Sunday, so get your prep work done by then.

Keep Foulin' Y'all!
