Week 14 Roundup: Cousins is Back Edition

DeMarcus Cousins is back and what did he do in his first game in nearly a calendar year? He fouled out in just 15 minutes of play. Not something that's really a surprise for a player who may go down as the NFA GOAT someday. Since we finally had a bunch of stat corrections this week, I am going to get this post strted.

Stat Corrections: Looks like technical foul review committee has made their decisions on stuff for the first half of the NFA season. We have a total of 24 techies that have been rescinded but I will only cover the 12 that happened on foulers that were under contract with their foul clubs.

- Kevin Love had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to October 17th. GG Foulin' did not have him active so he does not lose 40 points.
-Andre Drummond had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to October 23rd. Rodman'sWeddingDress had him active that week so he loses 40 points.
- Montrezl Harrell had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to November 23rd. Arlington Assaulters had him active that week so he loses 40 points.
-Andre Drummond had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to December 10th. Rodman'sWeddingDress had him active that week so he loses 40 points.
- Rudy Gobert had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to December 10th. GG Foulin' did not have him active so he does not lose 40 points.
- Jonas Valanciunas had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to December 11th. F'N FLOPPERS had him active that week so he loses 40 points.
- Hasan Whiteside had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to December 23rd. Pgastan FC did not have him active so he does not lose 40 points. .
- Kevin Durant had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to December 29th. GG Foulin' had him active that week so he loses 40 points.
- DeMar DeRozan had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to December 29th. F'N FLOPPERS had him active that week so he loses 40 points.
- Bradley Beal had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to December 29th. Pgastan FC had him active that week so he loses 40 points.
- Paul George had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to January 10th. Pgastan FC had him active that week so he loses 40 points.
- Montrezl Harrell had a technical foul taken away from him retroactive to January 12th. Arlington Assaulters had him active that week so he loses 40 points.

Ohsnappers!!! had a horrible week of 150 points and will not be climbing out of the cellar with an effort like that. Baltimore Hitsquad had a poor week of 290 points and remains in 8th place. Gamblor had an average week of 380 points and remains in 7th place. F'N FLOPPERS had a poor week of 280 points and drops to 6th place. Arlington Asasulters had an excellent week of 515 points and vaults up to 5th place as a result.

Rodman'sWeddingDress had a poor week of 265 points and stays in 4th place. Oww Ming's Flagrants had a great week of 460 points and stays in 3rd place. GG Foulin' had an average week of 300 points and remains in 2nd place. Pgastan FC had an amazing week of 660 points and stays atop the standings.

Week 13 Roundup: Down Under Edition

Australian Open has begun so I thought this would be an appropriate title. Really no intro other than that so let's get to this weeks post.

Ohsnappers!!! had an average week of 325 points but remains in last place. Baltimore Hitsquad also had an average week of 325 points and stays in 8th place. Gamblor had a poor week of 275 and falls to 7th place but managed to join the 5000 point club. Arlington Assaulters has also made the 5000 point club with a great week of 410 points and that had him leap over Gamblor for 6th place. Rounding out the bottom cohort is F'N FLOPPERS who had a great week of 415 points and stays in 5th place.

Rodman'sWeddingDress had an average week of 380 points and stays in 4th place. Oww Ming's Flagrants had an excellent week of 575 points and stays in 3rd place. GG Foulin' also had an excellent week of 575 points and stays in 2nd place. Finally, Pgastan FC had an excellent week of 515 points and remains in 1st place.

Week 12 Roundup: Top 2 Teams Duke It Out Edition

Not sure if anyone was paying attention to the duel between Pgastan FC and GG Foulin' this week but it was pretty crazy. Monday, was a pretty normal day with Pgastan FC scoring 95 points to GG Foulin's 60 points. It started getting crazy on Tuesday when PFC scored 155 points from just 2 players while GG Foulin' only had 15 points. PFC then had a monster Wednesday scoring 260 points with 24 fouls, 1 foul out and 2 techies. GG Foulin' scored 90 points that day. Both teams had no foulers on Thursday.

So at this point, PFC had scored 510 points for the week to GG Foulin's 165 and he had extended his lead to around 1170 points for the season. Now, the tide begins to turn with GG Foulin' scoring 260 points on Friday while PFC only scores 60 points. This erases the gain PFC had on Wednesday and then some. GG Foulin' then scored 110 points on Saturday to PFC's 50 points. Finally, GG Foulin' scored 70 points on Sunday to PFCs 50 points. Pgastan FC still managed to gain 65 points on GG Foulin' though,

Ohsnappers!!! continues to struggle after a poor week of 275 points and stays in last place. Baltimore Hitsquad had an average week of 355 points but remains in 8th place. Arlington Assaulters had an average week of 365 points and stays in 7th place. Gamblor also had an average week, scoring 395 points, and remains in 6th place. F'N FLOPPERS had a great week of 420 points but remains in 5th place.

Rodman'sWeddingDress had an average week of 380 points but falls to 4th place. Oww Ming's Flagrants is the foul club that passed him up after a great week of 450 points and he moves to 3rd place. GG Foulin' had an amazing week of 605 points but remains in 2nd place. Pgastan FC had an amazing week of 670 points and stays in first while extending his lead by a tad.

Is It Time to Reconsider the Foul Out as a Performance Foul?

Recently I have been thinking that we need to update our definition of a Performance Foul to include the Foul Out. Here's our definition from the most recent NFA Glossary Post from 10-12-15:

Performance Foul: Any foul other than a personal foul (Technical, Flagrant, or Ejection)

Baltimore Hitsquad, who coined the term Performance Foul, had the initial reasoning that a Foul Out is a mere accumulation of personal fouls and not really special. But after seeing many foulers get to 5 fouls and sometimes even in the 3rd quarter and then never get that clutch 6th personal foul, I decided we should bring this up for debate.  

Here's why I think it should be reconsidered:

1. It takes skill to get that 6th foul and thus foul out

2. Your coach, not realizing the true benefits of fouling out, will bench you when you get to 5 fouls so you have to convince him to get back on the court.

3. Fouling Out in the last minute is basically as clutch as you can get in the NFA

4. Fouling Out is statistically rarer than a technical foul 

Now I understand the initial reasoning behind not including it, but I also look at it as a reward for accumulating so many fouls. 

So, what do you think? Should the Foul Out be added to the definition of a Performance Foul?
