2020-2021 End of the Season Donkies!

Again, this was a shortened season due to the pandemic but that doesn't mean there won't be awards! There probably won't be any records broken but we shall see. Now, without further ado, let the show begin! 

The Roger Murdock Persistent Fouling Award (Most Personal Fouls):
Dillon Brooks finished with the most fouls at 237.

The Shawn Kemp Award (Most Foul Outs):

It's a tie between Karl-Anthony Towns and Mason Plumlee both with 7 Foul Outs

The Rasheed Wallace Legacy Award (Most Technical Fouls):
It's a tie between Luka Doncic and Dwight Howard both with 16 Technical Fouls

 
The Charles Oakley Award (Most Flagrant Fouls):
We have a tie between Dwight Howard and C.J. McCollum both with 4 Flagrant Fouls

 
The Dennis Rodman Award (Most Ejections):   

Kyle Lowry finished the season with 3 ejections.

So unlike last year's shortened season we did have 2 foulers crack the 2000 point mark this season. Looks like we had about 56 foulers crack 1000 points. Usually we get around 100 foulers above the 1000 point mark. Aside from the Small Forward position the Donkies by Position are actually pretty in-line with what we expect in a full season. 

 

So that wraps up the awards and with that we can put a bow on the 12 season of the National Foul Association.

2020-2021 NFA Season Recap

Usually, the season ends on a Wednesday so I'm writing this on a Thursday after my normal weekly post. But because of the Pandemic the season was shortened a little bit and it ended on a Sunday so this recap post will recap a full week of NFA action as usual just like. Without further ado, here's this season's recap.

We actually had no change in the standings in this final week. Ohsnappers!!! had a poor week of 295 points and stays in 9th place but does crack the 5000 point mark. Gamblor had an average week of 355 points and stays in 8th place. Rodman'sWeddingDress had a horrible week of 190 points but stays in 7th place. F'N FLOPPERS had a horrible week of 175 points and stays in 6th place. Baltimore Hitsquad had a poor week of 285 points and stayed in 5th place.

Arlington Assaulters had a great week of 410 points and stayed in 4th place. Pgastan FC had an average week of 355 points and stayed in 3rd place. Ow Ming's Flagrants had an average week of 330 points and stayed in 2nd place. Finally, GG Foulin' had an amazing week of 630 points and further solidify his championship but manages to fall 20 points short of 10,000.

So by this metric, Oww Ming's Flagrants should have won the league followed by Pgastan FC in 2nd and GG Foulin' in 3rd. We can clearly see that GG Foulin' went for quantity over quality with part of his strategy and it seems to have paid off. Pgastan FC did get hurt by DNPs and injuries down the stretch in the 2nd half of the season after the dominating start they had. Also, F'N FLOPPERS should have finished in 4th place not 6th but they had 2nd lowest games played this season. Arlington Assaulters should have been in 5th and Baltimore Hitsquad should have been in 6th. The bottom three played out correctly.

GG Foulin' gets their 2nd title in the NFA. We still have only had 5 teams ever win the title out of the 9 that have been in the Association for the last few years. This was the 12th season of the NFA.

The tiers separated a bit in the final weeks but we ultimately had 3 tiers the whole season as you can clearly see. Also, Arlington Assaulters was able to foul above league average with a strong last few weeks. So we had the top 4 teams fouling above league average when we only had 3 for most of the season.

Week 20 Roundup: 5th Month Analysis Blowout!

Well, I didn't think I'd be writing this post a few weeks ago as I thought the season was only 20 weeks long but here we are. I'm not sure if I'll do everything I usually do for these posts with one week left to go but we'll see. Also, I was trying to think of a way to project % of winning the title but not really sure how to calculate that so if anyone knows, write in the comments below. Well, let's get right to it.

Ohsnappers!!! had a great week of 435 points but is firmly in last place. Gamblor had an average week of 305 points and stays in 8th place. Rodman'sWeddingDress had an excellent week of 510 points and stays in 7th place. F'N FLOPPERS had a poor week of 230 points and falls to 6th place. Baltimore Hitsquad had a great week of 405 points and moves up to 5th place.

Arlington Assaulters had a great week of 405 points and stays in 4th place. Pgastan FC had an average week of 395 points and stays in 3rd place. Oww Ming's Flagrants had an amazing week of 730 points and while they stay in 2nd place are right on the heels of GG Foulin' The aforementioned GG Foulin' had a great week of 455 points and stays in first place.... for now.

Things of note here include the sheer amount of games by GG Foulin' who has the 3rd best PPG. Oww Ming's Flagrants now has the best PPG while Pgastan FC is in 2nd. F'N FLOPPERS has the 4th best but has fallen further behind in games played so that would explain their slip in the standings as of late. Though that's been the story of F'N FLOPPERS season, low games play4ed but relatively high PPG. Five teams are fouling above league average of 17.78 PPG.

Even though last month's linear regression is to 20 weeks so it's undercounted I'm going to leave it in anyway. By this metric, GG Foulin' will finish first followed by Pgastan FC and in third Oww Ming's Flagrants. F'N FLOPPERS will finish ahead of Baltimore Hitsquad for 5th but that's about it in terms of projections. 

 

The Final Week:

 

Adding a new section for this post with one week to go. GG Foulin' has 30 games scheduled this week, Oww Ming has 29, and Pgastan FC has 28. Oww Ming and GG are virtually tied going into the final week so it's pretty much a tossup between them. Pgastan FC has a shot but will need a 700 point week to do it. As I stated in my intro I don't know how to project percetnages for winning the title but I'll give it my guess here. GG Fooulin has a 49 % chance to win. Oww Ming Flagrant's has a 49% chance to win. Pgastan FC has a 2% chance to win.   

 

For the rest of the standings. Ohsnappers!!! has 9th clinched. Gamblor has 8th clinched. Rodman'sWeddingDress, F'N FLOPPERS, and Baltimore Hitsquad appear to be trueling for 5th. Arlington Assautlers is in good position for 4th but the Hitsquad could catch him.
