NFA 2015-2016 Season Recap

So, another National Foul Association season is in the books. Let's take a look at how the final 3 days wrapped up.

Stat Corrections:
There were no stat corrections this week

Final 2015-2016 NFA Standings

1. Arlington Assaulters- 10740 pts (+125)
2. Oww Ming's Flagrants 10525 (+135)
3. Pgastan FC- 9990 (+200)
4. Rodman'sWeddingDress- 9270 (+130)
5. They Call Me Gamblor- 8880 (+205)
6. Baltimore Hitsquad- 8635 (+110)
7. F'N FLOPPERS 8455 (+75)
8. Ohsnappers!!!- 8170 (+70)

As I predicted in my last post on Monday (though it was very likely it would happen) the standings did not change. Ohsnappers!!! only put up 70 points and finishes off a dismal season well in the cellar. F'N FLOPPERS did not fair that well in the final three days either, only putting up 75 points, and his team faded away during the 2nd half of the season and he finishes the season in 7th place.

Baltimore Hitsquad came out of the cellar a few weeks ago and managed to stay up as he put up 110 points in the final 3 days but stays in 6th place. A nice rebound for the Hitsquad, maybe he can finish in the top 3 next season. They Call Me Gamblor had a great 3-day week by putting up 205 points, but he would stay in 5th place.

Rodman'sWeddingDress, the defending NFA Champion put up 130 points this week but was too far behind to trophy. Pgastan Foul Club completes a remarkable turn around after firing their GM on November 17th and hiring Nick Nalkin a few days later. On November 17th, PFC was actually in 7th place. To finish the season in 3rd place is an excellent result, surely they will be aiming for a title next year. Does this mean there is a place for analytics in NFA? Only time will tell.

Oww Ming's Flagrants was unable to catch Arlington Assaulters for the title as he only put up 135 points this week despite having DeMarcus Cousins. Again, Arlington Assautlers remains the only team to have ever won a title without Cousins or Dwight Howard. He put up 125 points this week and finishes off an almost wire-to-wire run (He was 25 points behind 1st place after week 1, took the lead in week 2 and never looked back).

Team Foul Stats
Looking at the full standings let's look at the team leaders in each category as well as total fouls in the NFA:

Personal Fouls
Total: 10,909
Leader: Arlington Assaulters with 1,480 (13.5% of all fouls in the NFA)
Low: Baltimore Hitsquad with 1195 (11% share)

Foul Outs
Total: 78
Leader: Oww Ming's Flagrants with 18 (23% of all foul outs in the NFA)
Low: Rodman'sWeddingDress with 6 (7.7% share)

Technical Fouls
Total: 260
Leader: Oww Ming's Flagrants with 46 (17.6% of all techies in the NFA)
Low: Ohsnappers!!! with 11 (4.2% share)

Flagrant Fouls
Total: 38
Leader: Arlington Assaulters with 9 (23.7% of all flagrant's in the NFA)
Low: Oww Ming's Flagrants with 1 (2.6% share)

Ejections
Total: 20
Leader: Rodman'sWeddingDress and Pgastan FC with 4 (each had a 20% share of all ejections in the NFA)
Low: Ohsnappers!!! with 0 (0% share)

I noticed in the past some teams would have over 60 techies in a season. Does this mean there are less fouls in the NFA or are managers getting smarter so it's harder for one team to hoard a bunch of performance fouls. It looks like PFC holds the record for most techies in a season with 60 (2012-2013 season). It's hard to see any trends as NFA has not always had 8 teams. Can really only compare to last year as we have the same managers from last year this year.

NFA Titles:
Rodman'sWeddingDress 3 - 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2014-2015
Pgastan FC (formerly Donkey Engine and Steam Donkey FC) 2 -  2009-2010 and 2012-2013
Arlington Assaulters 2- 2013-2014 and 2015-2016
