Week 13 Roundup: Duel for First Edition

With it being MLK Day meaning I am off from work today and rosters having already locked due to matinee games it gives me a chance to write an early post this week. With both GG Foulin' and Pgastan FC having Amazing weeks (more on that later) it really has become a two-club race for first. They have really separated themselves from the rest of the pack.

This is reminiscent of last year's duel although the roles are reversed in which both foul clubs essentially match each other's weekly output and thus never gain or lose ground on one another. Pgastan FC had a huge week early on but lost the points he made up on GG Foulin' later in the week and the only reason he ended up gaining any points on GG Foulin' at all was the fact that GG Foulin' had a stat correction that took points away. I will elaborate more on that later in the post as we get to the appropriate parts of the post.

Since I just did an elaborate analysis post last week and I can't think of anything else to add, like more NFA terms, which reminds me I should re-post the NFA Glossary post again and perhaps add anything that I am not thinking of, we well get right into this week's post.

Stat Corrections:
- Kyle Lowry had a techy taken away from him retroactive to December 18th. GG Foulin' had him active that week so he loses 40 points.

Transactions:
- Gamblor added Marcus Smart and dropped Jayson Tatum on January 15th

F'N FLOPPERS has finally joined the 3000 point club after an average week of 300 points but remains well in last place perhaps destined for an all-time record low National Foul Association score. Baltimore Hitsquad had a great week of 410 points but finds himself comfortably in 8th place in which it seems like he won't move up or down positions anytime soon. Ohsnappers!!! had an average week of 335 points and falls to 7th place as Arlington Assaulters had a great week of 450 points and moves up to 6th place.

Rodman'sWeddingDress had a poor week of 225 points and stays in 5th place. Gamblor had an average week of 330 points and remains in 4th place.Oww Ming's Flagrants had a poor week of 235 points and remains in 3rd place but does happen to crack the 6000 point mark .

As for the top 2 foul clubs, Pgastan FC had an amazing week of 720 points but as mentioned above remains in 2nd place. That's because GG Foulin' was able to more or less match PFC who scored 700 points this week. At one point earlier in the week PFC had the deficit down to under 300 points but GG Foulin' had a strong 2nd half of the week and was able to actually gain on him with points. With no games for either team yesterday the scores were actually GG Foulin' 740 and PFC 720 for the week but as mentioned above the Kyle Lowry stat correction was all it took for PFC to go from losing 20 points on GG Foulin' to gaining 20 points on him.

The tiers remained unchanged from last week though the teams in tier 2 actually got closer in some regards. Arlington Assaulters flipped the script on Ohsnappers!!! this week going up 80 points on him where he was down 35 points last week. Gamblor is now about 100 points closer to Oww Ming's Flagrants than last week as well, while Rodman'sWeddingDress goes from just 25 points behind Gamblor to 130 points behind.

Week 12 Roundup: 3rd Month Analysis Blowout!

It's late and don't really see the need for an intro here given this is an analysis post so let's get right to it.

Starting from the bottom, F'N FLOPPERS remains there after a poor week of 280 points. He is a long way behind 8th place, Baltimore Hitsquad who had an average week of 300 points. He is also along way behind the next foul club, Arlington Assaulters, who also had an average week. He scored 310 points but actually falls to 7th place. Ohsnappers!!! had an amazing week of 725 points and moves up one spot to 6th.

Rodman'sWeddingDress had a great week of 405 points but falls to 5th place because Gamblor had an excellent week of 515 points and moves up to 4th. Oww Ming's Flagrants had a great week of 405 points and remains in 3rd place. Pgastan FC had a great week of 435 points and remains in 2nd place. Finally, GG Foulin' had an average week of 360 points but stays in 1st place.

There's been some shakeup in the standings since the last analysis blowout post 4 weeks ago. So the average points per game is not entirely in descending order as one would expect. The first team out of order is Ohsnappers!!! though that is likely because of him putting up 725 points this week. The second team out of position is Gamblor who should be in 3rd place now according to his average points per game. If you remember from the past 2 analysis posts, Gamblor has consistently been out of place according to this metric but has started to climb the standings finally. He is still around 20 games behind the teams ahead of him. Actually, as of week 8 he was basically 20 games behind every other foul club and he has closed that gap on other foul clubs so perhaps that explains his rise up the standings.

Some things that remain the same from the last post are that F'N FLOPPERS is still on pace to break the record low according to both metrics. Also, Pgastan FC nd GG Foulin' are projected, by both metrics, to break the all-time high still, though Pgastan FC is just barely on ahead of the pace using the traditional method. It is interesting to note that the biggest discrepancies between the two methods are at the top of the standings. Oww Ming's Flagrants and Gamblor are projected with more points from the traditional method as is Ohsnappers!!!. All other foul clubs their higher projection is from linear regression. We still have 7 teams projected to finish over 10,000 points.

The easy tiers first are the bottom 2 where F'N FLOPPERS and Baltimore Hitsquad are clearly deserving of those positions. Ohsnappers!!! and Arlington Assaulters are still in a tier together, in fact are basically neck and neck in points so that's obvious. Rodman'sWeddingDress, Gamblor, and Oww Ming's Flagrants are in a tier together as they continue to duel it out for 3rd place. Finally Pgastan FC closed the gap enough on GG Foulin' to join him in tier 1.

Week 11 Roundup: Blog Stats Edition

Since, I couldn't think of topic for today, I am going to use the one I thought of during the holidays that I would have used last week. After, talking to some fellow GMs I got the idea to look at the blog stats so I'm going to run those down right now.

As of this writing this blog has 5,865 total page views. We have 25 people from the US looking at it and interestingly enough we have had 2 page views from Russia. I am guessing the title of my blog worked as I set it up to basically be satire and mistaken for some political commentary. We've had 2 page views tonight so I thank the 2 people who are anxiously awaiting this post.

I may have to bring this post back and possibly update some terminology.

This may be a first, top 5 foul clubs all scored over 500 points this week, which further solidifies the top squads. Also, no foul clubs changed positions in the standings. As is normal, I'll start from the bottom. F'N FLOPPERS had a poor week of 215 points and remains in last place.Let's see if all the transactions he made this week can help him get to a more respectable score. Baltimore Hitsquad had an average week of 315 points and remains in 8th place. Ohsnappers!!! had a great week of 435 points and stays in 7th place. Arlington Assaulters had an average week of 340 points and stays in 6th place.

Gamblor had an excllent week of 595 points and stays in 5th place but joins the top 4 clubs in terms of tiers as he is now closer to 4th than 6th. Rodman'sWeddingDress had an excellent week of 525 points and stays in 4th place. Oww Ming's Flagrants also had an excellent week, scoring 565 points, and stays in 3rd. Pgastan FC had an excellent week of 565 points and stays in 2nd. Finally, GG Foulin' had an excellent week of 580 and stays in first.

A littler harder breaking the Foul Clubs in to tiers this week but there are some obvious ones. F'N FLOPPERS is clearly in the last tier, with Baltimore Hitsquad in the 2nd to last tier. Ohsnappers!!! was slightly closer to Arlington Assaulters than Baltimore Hitsquad so I put those 2 in teh same tier but Ohsnappers!!! could also have been in tier 5. Gamblor and Rodman'sWeddingDress are the closest teams still so they deserve to be in the same tier. As for Oww Ming's Flagrants as he is a little over 300 ahead of Rodman'sWeddingDress I put him in tier 3, though he could have been in a separate tier. I decided to split off Pgastan FC into his own tier despite good performance from his squad lately, GG Foulin' has kept pace or slightly bettered him. GG Foulin' is now alone in tier 1.
