2018-2019 Midseason Donkies

As we have reached this years Donk-Star Break, it only means one thing! Time for the Midseason Donkies!

Posting this a little early this weekend as I have been invited to sit in on GM meetings between Pgastan FC and Baltimore Hitsquad this weekend (a la Michael Lewis and Moneyball). Hopefully, this helps me with a chapter of Foulerball (whenever I get around to writing it).

Jaren Jackson Jr. leads the league at the break with 220 personal fouls

Joel Embiid leads the league at the break with 3 Flagrants

The Dennis Rodman Award (Most Ejections)
T.J. Warren and Patrick Beverley  are tied for the league lead with 2 ejections each

C: Karl-Anthony Towns with 1695 points (211-6-7-0-0)

*Positions are based on actual depth charts

6th Man Award (Highest Point total for a fouler who went undrafted): Jaren Jackson Jr. with 1555 points (220-6-3-0-0)

Midseason Most Valuable Fouler (MVF): Patrick Beverely with 2075 points (203-5-12-2-1)

Being that an excellent full season is cracking 2000 points and that I believe in the past you may get around 5 per year that do that, I had to look up the history of the Midseason Donkies to see if this is the first time it has happened at the Donk-Star Break. I feel like it has happened once but let's find out shall we?

So, dating back to the  2012-2013 season in which the first Midseason MVF award appeared it has happened once in the 2016-2017 when (you guessed it) DeMarcus Cousins had 2135 points (203-4-17-2-0)

There were 3 foulers that cracked 2000 points for the entire season last year, while 6 did it in the 2016-2017 season. Cousins scored 2730 Points that week, which is a league record.

In the 2013-14 Season 4 Foulers cracked 2000 points
In the 2014-15 Season 4 Foulers cracked 2000 points
In the 2015-16 Season 3 Foulers cracked 2000 points
In the 2016-17 Season 6 Foulers cracked 2000 points
In the 2017-18 Season 3 Foulers cracked 2000 points

Well that's it for now. Be sure to check back on Monday for a regular weekly roundup.

Keep Foulin' Y'all!
