Week 2 Roundup: Halloween Eve Edition

As I saw some foul clubs make some transactions today but knowing that they would have to wait until next week to play these players, I decided to double check to make sure there wasn't an option where we could add a player and insert them the same day. I did not see one and conclude it must be a Yahoo setting. With that being said, let's get to the update.

Stat Corrections
- Draymond Green had a personal foul given to him retroactive to October 20th. Arlington Assaulters had him active that week so he gains 5 points.
Zaza Pachullia had a personal foul taken away from him retroactive to October 20th. They Call Me Gamblor had him active that week so he loses 5 points.

If you read the blog last week, these 2 people swapped fouls in a stat correction, someone must have made a mistake.

Transactions:
- F'N FLOPPERS added Reggie Jackson on October 23rd.
- Ohsnappers!!! added Kevin Durant and dropped Derrick Rose on October 25th.
- Oww Ming's Flagrants added Brandon Ingram and dropped Ben Simmons on October 26th
- Pgastan FC added TJ Warren on October 27th.
- Rodman'sWeddingDress added Otto Porter and dropped Austin Rivers on October 28th.
- Arlington Assaulters added Tyson Chandler and added Al Horford on October 29th.

Standings as of October 30, 2017:

1. Arlington Assaulters - 975 (+500)
2. Rodman'sWeddingDress - 870 (+390)
3. Pgastan FC - 840 (+585)
4. They Call Me Gamblor - 665 (+340)
5. Oww Ming's Flagrants - 645 (+330)
6. F'N FLOPPERS - 570 (+225)
7. Ohsnappers!!! - 510 (+210)
8. Baltimore Hitsquad - 430 (+205)

<= 195 points: Horrible week
200-295 points: Poor week
300-395 points: Average week
400-495 Points: Great Week
500-595 Points: Excellent Week
>=600 points: Amazing week

Baltimore Hitsquad had a poor week of 205 points and remains in last place with 430 points. Ohsnappers!!! also had a poor week, though 5 points better than the Hitsquad at 210, but falls to 7th place. F'N FLOPPERS had a poor week as well scoring just 225 points and falls from 3rd to 6th. Oww Ming's Flagrants had an average week of 330 points and remains in 5th place. They Call Me Gamblor had an average week of 340 points and remains in 4th place. Pgastan FC had an excellent week of 585 points and jumps all the way up to 3rd place from opening the season in 7th. Rodman'sWeddingDress had an average week of 390 points and falls one spot to 2nd place. Arlington Assaulters had an excellent week of 500 points and is the new leader of the NFA.

It is important to note that this early in the season, you will see a lot of movement as the standings stabalize as the sample size of games played goes up. However, we have had some teams come close to going wire-to-wire at their position so it is possible to learn something from these early weeks.

Well that's it for now.

Week 1 Roundup: NFA is Back!

The National Foul Association (also known as "Foul League" colloquially) is back for the 2017-2018 Season! First, some big news. Defending Champion GG Foulin' had to withdraw this season due to a draft conflict. Since so much of NFA is in the draft, he opted to not defend his title instead of using autopick for the draft. He could have pre-ranked his foulers but this is the route he ultimately chose.

As for the draft itself. No surprises with the 1st pick where Oww Ming's Flagrants took DeMarcus Cousins. This is the 2nd time in 3 years he has Cousins. Rodman'sWeddingDress lucked into the 2nd pick and drafted Dwight Howard, while Pgastan FC was stuck with 3rd pick and took Marquese Chriss over an injured Markieff Morris.

The rest of the 1st round went like this:

4th: Arlington Assaulters took Draymond Green
5th: They Call Me Gamblor took Russell Westbrook
6th: Ohsnappers!!! took Andre Drummond
7th: Baltimore Hitsquad took Anthony Davis
8th: F'N FLOPPERS took Carmelo Anthony

I thought Oww Ming's Flagrants had the best draft and if Markieff comes back fouling when healthy he could threaten the single-season points record set in 2010-2011 season in which Rodman'sWeddingDress had Dwight Howard and a rookie DeMarcus Cousins.

I cannot confirm this, but I believe this was the first ever draft where everyone showed up, just shows the popularity of NFA now. Also, raises the question to do an auction draft in the future so everyone would have a chance to get Cousins and other great foulers. However, there doesn't seem to be enough interest in an Auction draft yet, but we will see.

Stat Corrections
- Zaza Pachullia had a personal foul given to him retroactive to October 20th. They Call Me Gamblor had him active that week so he gains 5 points.
- Draymond Green had a personal foul taken away from him retroactive to October 20th. Arlington Assaulters had him active that week so he loses 5 points.

Transactions:
- Arlington Assaulters added Nikola Vucevic and dropped Lonzo Ball on October 16th.
- Arlington Assaulters added Al Horford and dropped Tyson Chandler on October 18th.
- Pgastan FC added Jaylen Brown and dropped Evan Fournier on October 20th.

Standings as of October 23, 2017:

1. Rodman'sWeddingDress - 480 (+480)
2. Arlington Assaulters - 475 (+475)
3. F'N FLOPPERS - 345 (+345)
4. They Call Me Gamblor - 325 (+325)
5. Oww Ming's Flagrants - 315 (+315)
6. Ohsnappers!!! - 300 (+300)
7. Pgastan FC - 255 (+255)
8. Baltimore Hitsquad - 225 (225)

<= 195 points: Horrible week
200-295 points: Poor week
300-395 points: Average week
400-495 Points: Great Week
500-595 Points: Excellent Week
>=600 points: Amazing week

Keeping in mind that this was a 6 day week but the start nonetheless, we saw basically normal point totals. Rodman'sWeddingDress is in 1st after 1 week wtih a total of 480, followed by 2nd place Arlington Assaulters who is only 5 points back at 475. F'N FLOPPERS is in 3rd place after putting up 345, while They Call Me Gamblor is in 4th at 325.Oww Ming's Flagrants put up 315 points and is in 5th place, while Ohsnappers!!! is in 6th place after putting up 300 points. Pgastan FC starts the season in 7th place after one week after only scoring 255 points, while Baltimore Hitsquad rounds out the league after putting up 225 points and is in 8th place.

Well that's it for now
