Week 11 Roundup: Players to Watch (and not watch) Edition

Rodman'sWeddingDress texted me a fouler notes snapshot of a fouler he just picked up. The fouler was Jusuf Nurkic and the blurb said this:

"Jusuf Nurkic scored 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting with eight rebounds, one steal and three blocks over 22 minutes before fouling out in Friday's win over the Kings.
Advice: Nurkic is going to be a blast to watch as he can't stop fouling, he's ultra-productive, and proven by his trash talking to Boogie Cousins he's not going to back down to anybody. He should be owned in all formats."

That's right mainstream fouler notes are starting to talk fouls finally. "....he can't stop fouling." Good stuff.

Now, on the other end of the spectrum you have DeMarre Carroll  who had a good regular basketball night (who cares, am I right?) and got this write up:

"DeMarre Carroll had a nice all-around game during Sunday's win over Washington, putting up 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting to go with four rebounds, four steals, one assist, two 3-pointers, and one turnover.
Advice: Carroll struggled during the month of December hitting just 40.7 percent of his shots, but has gotten things back on track in January with averages of 11.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 three-pointers on 50.0 percent shooting."

Notice anything? No mention of his fouling, the true metric of a great player. He had 0 fouls that game, in fact he had 4 games last week and only had 4 fouls the entire week despite averaging 31.5 minutes per game. Luckily PFC had him on his bench last week.

Now let's look at the past week:

Stat Corrections: There were a total of 6 stat corrections last week, all techies taken away from foulers but only 2 foulers were owned by foul clubs so that's all I will touch on.

-Blake Griffin had a techy taken away from him retroactive to December 29th. Baltimore Hitsquad had him active that week so he lost 40 points
-DeAndre Jordan had a techy taken away from him retroactive to December 19th. Arlington Assaulter had him active that week so he lost 40 points

Standings as of January 12, 2015:

1. Rodman'sWeddingDress- 5300 (+325)
2. Baltimore Hitsquad- 5150  (+440)
3. They Call Me Gamblor- 5055 (+470)
4. Arlington Assaulters- 4940 pts (+445)
5. Pgastan FC- 4815 (+430)
6. F'N FLOPPERS 4535 (+400)
7. Dis is dat Donk Ball- 3930 (+420)
8. Oww Ming's Flagrants 3735 (+390)

With no team scoring more than 470 points (They Call Me Gamblor) and no team scoring less than 325 points (Rodman'sWeddingDress) this week saw no movement in the standings. All teams remained in the same place as they were on January 5th. So, being that it's late and I don't feel like writing much and there is not much to analyze, I'm just going to leave it at that.

Transactions:

-Rodman'sWeddingDress added Jusuf Nurkic and dropped Andrew Bogut on January 11th
-Pgastan FC added Tristan Thompson and dropped David Lee on January 11th.

Well that's it for now.

Keep Foulin' Y'all!
