2024-2025 NFA Season: 2nd Month Analysis Blowout

Before I get to the analysis portion, I had an idea for the blog. Since the NBA likes to manufacture competitions out of nowhere (see the NBA Cup), what if we do the same by creating the NFA Cup? I've always wondered how this league would function as a head-to-head league and I could do it manually on the blog. Only problem is we have 9 teams but one would think there's some schedule generator online that could be used. I'd probably start it next year if I can figure it out but I could do this retroactively since I have scores each week.I would come up with a schedule and figure out the scores for the first few weeks. Anyway, let's get to the analysis portion!

Big Night in the NFA

Yesterday, December 3rd, 2024 was a huge day in the NFA with 7 of 9 foul clubs scoring over 100 points lead by GG Foulin' scoring 320 points and Baltimore Hitsquad putting up 230 points. Let's recap the night for all 9 foul clubs:

For some context, 320 points is a really good score in a day (as if you remember from my weekly roundups that 300-395 points is an average week) but no where near the record of 495 set by Pgastan FC in February 2020. The big thing is that GG Foulin' entered yesterday in 1st place ahead of F'N FLOPPERS and extends his lead by 295 points in a single night. 

Well, we'll be due for another monthly analysis post in 2 weeks on or around December 16th.

2024-2025 NFA Season: 1st Month Analysis Blowout

As I alluded to in my last post of the 2023-2024 season, I was likely going to switch up this blog if not abandon it all together. Well as you can see by reading this post, I haven't chosen to abandon it all together but I am switching things up. Basically, the weekly recap posts were becoming stale, pointless, and a burden. It also didn't add much value since it was just regurgitating what happened the previous week. However, I still like doing the monthly analysis posts as it gives a chance to forecast the season. 

Since, I'm not writing the weekly recaps the analysis posts will looks a little different. They will just show the current standings, followed by the points per game (sorted by points per game not current standings), projected standings (only showing and sorted by linear regression), and finally the points graph. Also, the current standings won't have the change from the previous week. One final program note, I'll won't necessarily post these on a Monday but will try. It not on Monday, it will likely be Tuesday and Wednesday at the latest. Let's get to the 1st month analysis post.
