2016-2017 NFA Season Recap

Let's take a look at how this years NFA competition ended, shall we?

Stat Corrections:
- There are no stat corrections this week

Final 2016-2017 NFA Standings:

1. GG Foulin' - 12120 (+115)
2. Arlington Assaulters - 11910 (+140)
3. Oww Ming's Flagrants - 11090 (+200)
4. Pgastan FC - 11020 (+185)
5. F'N FLOPPERS - 9280 (+150)
6. They Call Me Gamblor - 8485 (+275)
7. Baltimore Hitsquad - 7930 (+160)
8. Ohsnappers!!! - 7745 (+85)
9. Rodman'sWeddingDress - 7135 (+70)

Even with 3 races that could have changed to close out the season, there were no changes in the standings in the final 3 days of the season. Rodman'sWeddingDress only put up 70 points in the final days and finishes his worst season ever in 9th place. At least he joined the 7,000 point club so he is not totally left behind. Ohsnappers!!! had 85 points to close out the season and in the end could not close the gap on the HItsquad. Speaking of which, Baltimore Hitsquad put up a nice 160 points in these 3 days to finsih the race for 7th place strong.

They Call Me Gamblor had an amazing 3 days, scoring 275 points, but he was already locked into 6th place, so he did not move anywhere. F'N FLOPPERS had a great 150 points and finishes in 5th place.

Pgastan FC gave Oww Ming's Flagrants a sweat, but in the end came up short. PFC scored 185 points in the final 3 days and will finish in 4th place. He simply couldn't overcome the huge deficit he created for himself early in the season. Oww Ming's Flagrants held onto 3rd despite having a ton of DNPs in the final 3 days, thanks to 3 techies (Draymond Green, Paul Millsap, and Patrick Beverley).

As for the title race, Arlington Assaulters put up 140 points but it was not nearly enough to overcome the 200+ point deficit he was in entering the final 3 days. That means, GG Foulin', in his inaugural season, has won the NFA title. He joins Rodman'sWeddingDress who accomplished this feat in the 2010-2011 season. Arlington Assaulters, would like to claim this feat as well for the 2013-2014 season, but he actually finished 3rd in the very first season of NFA competition (2009-2010) but had to suspend team operations for financial reasons before resuming operations in the 2013-2014 season.

Team Foul Stats
Looking at the full standings let's look at the team leaders in each category as well as total fouls in the NFA:

Personal Fouls
Total: 12,023
Leader: GG Foulin' with 1,704 (14.2% of all fouls in the NFA)
Low: Rodman'sWeddingDress with 1055 (8.7% share)

Foul Outs
Total: 90
Leader: GG Foulin' with 20 (22.2% of all foul outs in the NFA)
Low: Rodman'sWeddingDress with 4 (4.4% share)

Technical Fouls
Total: 348
Leader: Oww Ming's Flagrants with 70 (20.1% of all techies in the NFA)
Low: Baltimore Hitsquad with 16 (4.6% share)

Flagrant Fouls
Total: 56
Leader: Pgastan FC with 12 (21.4% of all flagrant's in the NFA)
Low: Baltimore Hitsquad and GG Foulin' with 2 (each had a 3.6% share of all flagrant fouls)

Ejections
Total: 28
Leader: Oww Ming's Flagrants, Arlington Assaulters, and Pgastan FC with 5 (each had a 17.9% share of all ejections in the NFA)
Low: Ohsnappers!!! with 0 (0% share)

Oww Ming's Flagrant's destroys the record for techies in a season (70) previously held by Pgastan FC (60). Pgastan FC also set the record for most flagrants in a season by a foul club (12) besting Rodman'sWeddingDress record of 10 set in the 2012-2013 season.

While he didn't break the record for most personal fouls in a season GG Foulin' has come the closest at 1,704 since the record was set by Donkey Engine (now Pgastan FC) in the 2009-2010 season at 1,766. Those are the only 2 teams in NFA history to eclipse the 1,700 mark for personal fouls. He is also only the 3rd team to crack 1,600 fouls (Rodman'sWeddingDress did this in the 2010-2011 season).

GG Foulin' becomes the 5th team to crack the 20 foul out mark in a season. Joining Pgastan FC (2009-2010), Baltimore Hitsquad (2010-2011), and Rodman'sWeddingDress (2010-2011 and 2014-2015).

NFA Titles:
Rodman'sWeddingDress 3 - 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2014-2015
Pgastan FC (formerly Donkey Engine and Steam Donkey FC) 2 -  2009-2010 and 2012-2013
Arlington Assaulters 2- 2013-2014 and 2015-2016
GG Foulin' 1- 2016-2017

Final Points Graph:

Well that's it for this season. Make sure to check back in a few days for the End of the Season Donkies!

Week 24 Roundup: Homestretch Edition

This is it, the final three days of the 2016-2017 NFA Edition. After the last full week, we still have 3 close races.

The Race for the Championship: GG Foulin' was able to pull away a little bit and opened up a 235 point lead. He has maximized his games for the week with all of his foulers having 2 games in 3 days for a total of 14 games. Meanwhile, Arlington Assaulters has a maximum of 12 games with Toronto and Phoenix only playing once this week. But MVF candidate DeMarcus Cousins has already been scratched from Tuesday's game. Of course the randomness of NFA could mean you could have less games played in a week but get some huge performance fouls and win, but it is looking likely that GG Foulin' will take home the title.

The Race for Third: The closest race of the three reamining races for NFA end of season position, Pgastan FC has closed the gap on Oww Ming's Flagrants to a mere 55 points. Pgastan FC has decided to maximize his games and has fielded a team with the maximum of 14 games this week. Oww Ming's Flagrants has one Raptor in his lineup so he has a maximum of 13 games this week but John Wall is out for tonight's game so he will only get a maximum of 12 it looks like.

The Race for 7th: Baltimore Hitsquad is 110 points ahead of Ohsnappers!!! with three games to go. The Hitsquad has a potential 14 games this week but 3 of his players will be out tonight, so he will only get 11 games at a max. Meanwhile, Ohsnappers!!! has potential for 14 games as well but 2 of his players are not playing tonight so he has potential for a max of 12 games.

With that long intro, the longest of the season, let's take a look at what transpired in the past week.

Stat Corrections:

<= 195 points: Horrible week
200-295 points: Poor week
300-395 points: Average week
400-495 Points: Great Week
500-595 Points: Excellent Week
>=600 points: Amazing week

Rodman'sWeddingDress remains in last place and will finish the season in last place after a poor week of 220 points. Ohsnappers!!! remains in 8th place after scoring 270 points and as noted above is only 110 points behind 7th. The Hitsquad scored 330 points and remains in 7th place and most likely will finish there but there is still a chance Ohsnappers!!! can have a big week. They Call Me Gamblor remains in 6th place after a horrible week of 180 points. F'N FLOPPERS had an average week of 300 points and remains in 5th place well above 6th and well behind 4th, so he will finish in 5th.
