2023-2024 NFA Season Recap

And just like that, another NFA Season is in the books. Let's take a look at what all transpired in the final week and how the season ended up.

Rodman'sWeddingDress had a horrible week of 105 points and falls to 9th place to finish last this season. Gamblor had a poor week of 220 points but gets out of the cellar to finish in 8th. Baltimore Hitsquad had a poor week of 260 points and stays in 7th place. F'N FLOPPERS had an average week of 350 points and stays in 6th place. Oww Ming's Flagrants had an average week of 340 points and stays in 5th place.

Pgastan FC had a poor week of 290 points but is able to fend off Oww Ming's Flagrants and stay in 4th place. Ohsnappers!!! had an average week of 360 points and finishes in 3rd place for their first trophy. Arlington Assaulters had a great week of 475 points and finishes in 2nd place. GG Foulin' had an average week of 310 points and finishes in 1st place.

Only 2 teams broke the 10,000 point mark this year whereas the last 2 season we had 6 and 5 teams break 10,000 point mark. Not sure what that is saying. It could be a down year in scoring overall, it could be NFA teams are getting better at drafting an identifying talent so it's more evenly spread out (which seems plausible given how thin the waiver wire was) or it could mean something else. We have a new foul club on the podium for the first time in Ohsnappers!!! an Arlington Assaulters back for the first time in 6 years finally breaking the monotony of GG Foulin', PFC, and Oww Ming finishing int he top 3 that had happened the last 5 years.

League Average -17.87 (514 Games)

League average points per game was down almost 3 from 20.03 to 17.87. Again, either fouling was down this year or teams are better at identifying talent so foul clubs are more evenly spread out in the league. The top 3 finish appropriately. Pgastan FC should have finished in 5th with this metric and they almost did. Only other discrepancy is Rodman finishing in last place when they should have finished in 8th by PPG.

GG Foulin' joins Pgastan FC with their 4 title for most all-time passing Rodman'sWeddingDress who has 3. All title winners have won before. Will we get a new title winner next year? Can Ohsnappers!!! build on their 3rd place finish to win next year? Who knows, but we'll have to wait and see!

Programming Note: The blog is becoming to feel like a burden again and it's not fun writing a post every week. I'm not sure what I'll do next season but leaning towards maybe just the monthly analysis posts and then sprinkling in posts whenever I feel like it or if there's some big news in the NFA. We'll see. 

 

Also,  Yahoo! still hasn't figured out how to fix the missing foul outs in the stats for year which is really frustrating when trying to analyze players on the waiver wire so maybe we get more people to email them and try to fix it. I know they are aware of the issue. I wonder if it's other leagues or just ours. I would guess all leagues with foul outs but who knows. With now foul outs I still can't do the End of Season Donkies!
